Singles Holidays to Egypt

Boasting more than 5,000 years of history, culture and art, and with a climate that all but guarantees year-round sunshine, few countries in the world can match Egypt’s claim to be one of the world’s great travel destinations. Even fewer are able to conjure images the way Egypt does. The Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, the Nile, Tutankhamun and the Pharaohs, the Red Sea - it’s an impressive list but the really impressive thing is that it’s all just a 5 hour flight away. Hurghada is the Red Sea resort we’ve chosen for a week or two of sun-worshipping, swimming in crystal clear waters, enjoying the shops, bazaars and night-life and, of course, taking advantage of the excellent sightseeing and excursion possibilities. The resort is new-ish (with an old quarter, Saqala, close to the harbour area) and stretches along several kilometres of coastline. Hugging the coast is an impressive mountain range beyond which is the eastern desert which separates the Red Sea coast from the magnificent River Nile. Here, on the Nile at Luxor, you will find the Valley of the Kings, the Karnak Temples and an array of river vessels from ancient feluccas to imposing Nile cruisers.

Hotel Sea Shell ****
Located on its own small private beach - with sunbeds, umbrellas and a bar - and commanding wonderful sea views, the Hotel Sea Shell (formerly known as the Safir) is a delightful hotel which offers guests a range of excellent facilities. The resort centre is a 20 minute stroll away or you can use the cheap public minibuses which run regularly from near the hotel and take just a few minutes. The Hotel Sea Shell forms a horse-shoe shape around the large, attractive swimming pool alongside which are palm trees, pretty shrubs and plants. All the hotel’s rooms are air-conditioned with private balcony or terrace (most with sea view), satellite TV, telephone, minifridge and bathroom with sh/wc (hairdryers are available from reception). Breakfast and dinner are taken in the main restaurant overlooking the pool whilst cooling drinks are served at both the pool bar and in the Rendezvous Bar where occasional folklore shows and live music can also be enjoyed. The Hotel Sea Shell also offers complimentary safety deposit boxes, 24 hour room service, internet access and a laundry service. It’s a friendly hotel and a great place to enjoy a relaxed holiday.
