Bulgaria, Nessebar
Singles Holidays to Bulgaria
With its 230 miles of sandy Black Sea beaches, magnificent mountain ranges, a splendid Mediterranean summer climate, fascinating Balkan history and culture and one of the friendliest peoples in this part of the world, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Bulgaria has just about everything for a great holiday. And not only are the ingredients there for a memorable stay but once in the country you’ll be amazed at the low cost of living, excellent local transport links and a real feeling that Bulgarians are genuinely pleased that you have chosen their country to visit. Sofia, the capital, needs little introduction but Nessebar, Travel One’s resort choice, is not so well known despite being designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Bulgaria’s most picturesque resorts. In the old town, just a 10 minute walk from the hotel, you’ll find a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants, some lovely antique wooden houses, Orthodox churches, a pretty harbour and the well preserved remains of a beautiful Orthodox basilica in the centre of the village. There are also numerous little squares when you can simply sit and watch the world go by.
Hotel Sol Marina Palace **** Picturesque Nessebar is one of the Black Sea’s oldest and prettiest resorts and is justifiably proud of its UNESCO World Heritage status. The old town, almost a little island and only 10 minutes from our hotel, is joined to the newer part of Nessebar by a causeway (with a road and promenade) and is a jumble of cafes, bars, restaurants, boutiques and arts & crafts shops. It is very pretty and very photogenic. Travel One’s hotel, the 4 star Sol Marina Palace, is perfectly positioned and, apart from being just 10 minutes from the old town, is just a 5 minute stroll from the long, sandy beach and 2 minutes from the small, attractive park which separates the hotel from the sea. The Sol Marina Palace also overlooks a Greek archaeological site. The hotel boasts a roof-top swimming pool with sun terrace, sunbeds and umbrellas and superb views of the sea and surrounding area. There’s also a restaurant, a pool bar and a lobby bar, a small lounge and a ‘pub’ which serves drinks and snacks. All the hotel’s modern, comfortable rooms have a balcony or terrace, private sh/wc, hairdryer, mini-fridge & safe (both payable locally), TV, and telephone. |
