Marrakech & Agadir, Morocco
|
 |
| The sheer diversity of
Morocco is simply stunning fabulous beaches along its
2,000 mile long Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts; the mighty
Atlas Mountains stretching from the Rif in the north to the
Sahara in the south; the splendid imperial cities of Fes,Meknes
and Marrakech; superb cuisine; fantastic shopping; and, of course,
its amazingly hospitable and tolerant people who, throughout
the ages, have welcomed peoples of all religions and nationalities
with open arms. Its a vibrant, colourful country, nowhere
more so than Marrakech, the most famous of Moroccos imperial
cities, which enjoys a fabulous year round climate and a real
resort atmosphere. You can swim and sunbathe throughout the
year, enjoy fantastic shopping in the soukhs of the old Medina
(dont forget to barter its a way of life
here) and see some extraordinary sights both in Marrakech itself
and in the nearby Atlas mountains. Its a great place for
a short break but its also great to combine Marrakech
with a stay on the Atlantic coast at Agadir with its wonderful
climate, superb long sandy beach, watersports, horse and camel
riding, excellent accommodation and a more sophisticated, slightly
slower way of life than vibrant, bursting-with-life Marrakech. |
