St. Konstantin, Bulgaria
|
 |
| With its 230 miles of sandy
Black Sea beaches, magnificent mountain ranges, a splendid Mediterranean
summer climate, fascinating Balkan history and culture and one
of the friendliest peoples in this part of the world, youd
be forgiven for thinking that Bulgaria has just about everything
for a great holiday. And not only are the ingredients there
for a memorable stay but once in the country youll be
amazed at the low cost of living, excellent local transport
links and a real feeling that Bulgarians are genuinely pleased
that you have chosen their country to visit. Sofia, the capital,
needs little introduction but Varna, Bulgarias second
city, is not so well known despite being the countrys
main port. Its a lovely place to spend a few days to see
the bustling harbour area, the traffic-free pedestrianised centre
with its array of shops, restaurants, pavement kiosks (selling
everything under the sun), wide tree-lined avenues and a beautiful
cathedral. Its only 5 miles from St. Konstantin where
our hotel is located and is easily reached by cheap taxi or
the excellent local bus service. |
| Picturesque St. Konstantin
is one of the Black Seas oldest and most popular resorts
and its easy to see why. The whole area is full of oak,
beech and pine trees which give the resort a peaceful, natural
ambience and which offer visitors not only some lovely woodland
walks but also a lot of natural shade during the hot summer
months. Theres a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants
dotted around the resort and the local bus forVarna stops nearby.Hotel
Lebed is perfectly positioned some 300 yards from the small
harbour and beach, a long, crescentshaped stretch of gently-shelving
sand. The beach, reached by a short series of easy steps, has
one hotel overlooking it, a couple of bars and, of course, sunbeds
and parasols. The Lebed is surrounded by attractive gardens
and boasts a large swimming pool with sun terraces, sunbeds
and umbrellas. It is air-conditioned throughout and has a restaurant,
a coffee lounge and bar and a reception area with safety deposit
boxes. All rooms have a balcony or terrace, private sh/wc, hairdryer,
minibar, satellite TV and telephone. |
