Pula, Croatia
|
 |
| Stunningly beautiful.Majestic
mountains. Brilliant blue sea. Steeped in history. The list
goes on and on but, put quite simply, words and pictures cannot
do justice to Croatia, a must-see destination which
we are delighted to include again in our 2008 programme. We have
chosen the delightful Istrian Peninsula as the base for our
Croatia holidays and its easy to see why. Its the
largest peninsula on the Adriatic coast with close geographical
and historical ties to Italy. Italian influence is in evidence
everywhere the language, cuisine, culture with
one of the most popular excursions from Pula being the day trip
to Venice, just two hours away by hydrofoil. Inland, the scenery
is green with rolling hillsides of forests and vines and pretty
hilltop towns whilst the coastal resorts are a series of attractive
bays and secluded inlets. Pula is a delight. Its situated
at the southern tip of the peninsula and is a fascinating mix
of Roman history and contemporary Croatian life. Its studded
with landmarks of which the Roman amphitheatre is the most impressive.
The sea is crystal clear, the sightseeing superb and theres
good shopping, excellent museums and art galleries and, above
all, a warm Croatian welcome. |
| Situated just 4 kms from
the centre of Pula and overlooking the crystal clear Adriatic
Sea, the Brioni is a modern, well-appointed hotel which offers
