French Riviera Nice,
France | | The
world famous French Riviera is the stunning area where the Côte dAzur
meets Provence and the Maritime Alps to produce what must be one of the best-known
holiday destinations on the planet with its fabulous coastline, majestic mountains,
brilliant blue sea, chequered history, cuisine par excellence and, of course,
some of the most famous resort names in the world St. Tropez, Cannes, Antibes,
Nice and Monte Carlo. Weve chosen the lovely resort city of Nice as
the base for our vacances en France and its easy to see why.
It is quintessentially French and, apart from its superb bay and long, crescent-shaped
beach (with sunbeds, umbrellas and a variety of watersports), offers a wide range
of things to see and do both in the city and beyond. We couldnt feature
Nice without mentioning the famous Promenade des Anglais which runs around the
bay and, of course, the fascinating Old Town with its centuries old houses, cobbled
streets, flower, fruit and vegetable market, antique shops and spice stalls. And
theres the Coline du Chateau, a lovely park and ancient citadel which rises
above the eastern end of the city and from which there are superb views of Nice,
the bay and the mountains beyond. It really is a great holiday destination. |
Less
than a 15 minute walk from the Promenade des Anglais and the beach (slightly downhill)
and situated in a quiet residential area of Nice, the Anis is a delightful hotel
which offers guests a very French welcome, modern, comfortable accommodation and
a setting of palm and olive trees. Theres a shuttle service from the
hotel to the Old Town (small charge) with its great choice of bars and restaurants
(our representative will advise the best) and there are also regular buses along
the sea front. The hotel has a small-ish swimming pool and sun terrace, restaurant
(indoors and al fresco), bar, small reception lounge, internet and wifi. All the
air-conditioned bedrooms, doubles or twins for sole use, have bath or sh/wc (with
hairdryer), safe, TV and balcony or terrace. Its all very relaxing and,
if your idea of a great holiday is to unwind in attractive, peaceful surroundings
but with the bonus of having a fascinating town nearby to explore and some really
great sightseeing and excursions to enjoy (including Monte Carlo, St. Tropez and
San Remo), then the Anis is tailor-made for you. | |
