Pula, Croatia
Stunningly beautiful but, put quite simply, words and pictures cannot do justice to Croatia which we are delighted to feature again in our 2018 programme. The delightful Istrian Peninsula is the base for our Croatia holiday with its close geographical and historical ties to Italy.
Italian influence is in evidence everywhere – the language,
cuisine, culture – with one of the most popular excursions being the day trip to Venice by hydrofoil. Inland,
there are rolling hills with forests and vines and pretty hilltop villages whilst the coastal resorts are a series of
attractive bays and secluded inlets. Pula is a delight. It’s a fascinating mix of Roman history and contemporary
Croatian life, there’s an impressive Roman amphitheatre and the sea is crystal clear, the fishing superb and
there’s good shopping, excellent museums and art galleries.
