MALTA

Full Day Three Islands Cruise:

The Captain, together with the crew, will do their best to make this trip an unforgettable one. Enjoy yourself and sunbathe on the spacious deck. Dive into the crystal clear water and you can use our snorkeling equipment available on board  for free.

Experience the thrill of real sailing by helping the crew with the ropes and sails. It is great fun to participate and to take some nice photos back home! We will drop anchor in various bays for swimming and snorkeling and our last stop with our best stop at the famous Blue Lagoon.

On this trip the boat will cruise from Mgarr Harbour and  on to Marfa Point for clients from the island of Malta.  From here we go to Paradise Bay, where we will drop anchor for a nice refreshing swim, and then proceed to Anchor Bay. Here we will stop and have a look and take photos of Popeye Village from the sea.

Leaving the island of Malta, we shall put up the sails and sail towards the island of Comino and then will drop anchor at Crystal Lagoon for swimming and snorkeling. For a little additional cost, one can visit the caves round the lagoon. During this stop we will have lunch including Gozo Wine and water.

After this stop, we will cruise towards the island of Gozo and enter the picturesque Mgarr Harbour to take some photographs and then cruise on to the Blue Lagoon on Comino.  Here we will stop for swimming in the crystal clear waters of the famous Blue Lagoon.  Here one can take part in some water sports being offered during this stop.  From here we will cruise the North Comino Channel and round the island of Comino, passing by St. Nicholas Bay, Santa Maria Bay and the beautiful Santa Maria caves. After passing Elephant Rock, we will keep going round Comino and if time permits, we will make another stop at Armier Bay for our last stop and back to Marfa.

The Captain and the crew look forward to welcome you on board for an enjoyable trip.

Combi Tour:

This a combination of half a day cruise round the beautiful island of Comino and a half day jeep safari on the peaceful island of Gozo.

On the Jeep Safari, one can see the real island of Gozo by going to many popular places including Qala, Nadur, Ramla Valley, Xaghra, Calypso Cave, Marsalforn Bay, Salt pans, Inland Sea, Wied il-Mielah Window, Fungus Rock, Victoria , passing through the country side and along off-road tracks which are not visited on a normal Gozo Tour.

On the sailing trip round the magic island of Comino, we will stop for swimming and snorkeling in the blue clear waters of the famous Blue Lagoon. We will visit the nice caves and bays around the island with more stops for swimming and snorkeling. Snorkeling equipment is available on board free of charge.

The price includes unlimited wine and water during boat trip, buffet lunch, transfers from and to hotels & ferry tickets (if needed).

 

Full Day Jeep Safari - Gozo:

This a full day Jeep Safari starting with pick up from all hotels in Malta and Gozo and the jeep tour will start around 10.15hrs from Mgarr Harbour in Gozo.

Each jeep will have one of our experienced drivers who will also explain and give information during the whole trip. At each stop, more information is given in all languages of the clients and this is one of the points that has made the BARBAROSSA JEEP SAFARI the most successful in the Maltese Islands.

Going through different villages, valleys and country roads, the tour will take us to the most beautiful spots and places of interest in the island of Gozo. These will include Qala Belvedere from where we have a birds’ eye view of the Maltese Archipelago, Dahlet Qorrot Valley, the village of Nadur, Ramla Valley, the famous Calypso Cave and the oldest free standing temples in the world, those of Ggantija Temples!

We will have a mouth watering buffet lunch and one can help himself as much as he wants. This nice lunch will be washed down by some nice chilled Gozo Wine from our sun blessed vineyards!

Second part of the jeep tour will take us through some more villages to admire the beautiful scenes of Gozo and passing through the fields down to the picturesque bay of Xlendi where we will have a photo stop and move on to visit the famous Citadel, or better the fortified old city. From here we go to the Stone Quarries where one can watch the quarry men cutting the stone blocks for the building of houses. Our drivers will explain the procedure of this very hard work mostly done by hand. A visit to Gozo is not complete without a stop at Dwejra and the Inland Sea from where one can also admire the Famous Fungus Rock.

Leaving the Inland Sea we continue on our exciting trip to Wied Il-Mielaħ and passing by visiting the salt pans to watch how salt is produced from the sea since the Roman times. Passing through the summer resort of Marsalforn Bay, we will drive on to the harbour of Mgarr where our trip will come to an end.

Transport back to all hotels will be provided.


Mdina - Full Day (Tuesday & Friday)

Today’s excursion takes you to the central part of Malta, dominated by the medieval fortified city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital city.

The narrow, winding streets, dating back to medieval times, lead to the imposing bastions, commanding a magnificent panorama of the island. On the way there, you will discover different styles of architecture, including Siculo-Norman palaces and other baroque buildings of great historical importance.

Time stands still in this ‘Silent City’ which is a film-maker’s paradise.  Leaving Mdina through Greek’s Gate, we stop at the early Christian catacombs in Rabat before proceeding to the cliffs at Dingli.

After lunch we will visit the San Anton botanical gardens situated near the Presidential Palace, which you will be able to admire from outside. We shall also spend time at the crafts centre at Ta’ Qali. At the end of the tour, allow us to astound you with Mosta’s majestic dome, one of Europe’s largest.

 

Hagar Qim Temples Limestone Heritage and Market - (Full Day ) - Friday:

The tour starts with a visit to one of Malta’s oldest quarries which has been transformed into an attraction for tourists and locals alike and which provides a vivid account of one of Malta’s leading skills – the use of limestone for building purposes, a skill that goes back Thousands of years. The magic of Malta’s antiquity will be explained at Hagar Qim, Malta’s main pre-historic site, overlooking the wide expanse of the blue Mediterranean and the islet of Filfla. From Hagar Qim you will proceed to Wied iz-Zurrieq where (weather permitting - boat price not included) you can take a boat trip to the Blue Grotto, renowned for its crystal clear waters.

After lunch, we drive through local vineyards right up to the idyllic fishing village of Marsaxlokk. You will have time to stroll through the local market set out on its waterfront.  Later we proceed to the cave at Ghar Dalam where archaeologists have unearthed ample proof that Malta once formed part of the European landmass.

 

Valletta & The Malta Experience - (Half Day) - Monday Afternoon from October - June / Morning: from July to September

Your guided tour through the vibrant streets of Valletta will allow you to discover the beauty and charm of the fortified city built by the Knights in 1566. The Order of St. John ruled over the islands for 268 years and left a unique cultural legacy of which Valletta is the prime example. We first enjoy a breath-taking view of the Grand Harbour from the Upper Barrakka Gardens.

Then we visit St. John’s Co-Cathedral, including the Caravaggio masterpieces in the Oratory. The Co-Cathedral houses one of the most beautiful marble inlaid floors in the world.

Going down Republic Street you will walk past the Grand Masters’ Palace and the recently restored St. George’s Square before watching the Malta Experience, an audio-visual  show where Malta’s history throughout the centuries is brought back to life.

 

Mdina - (Half Day) - Tuesday (Morning / Friday (Morning)

A half day tour of Malta’s medieval city of Mdina, Malta’s former capital. The narrow, winding streets, dating back to the Arab period, lead to the imposing bastions, commanding a panoramic view of the islands. 

On the way there, you will discover different styles of architecture, including the medieval  Siculo-Norman palaces, and other baroque buildings of great historical importance.  Time stands still in this ‘Silent City’ which is a film-maker’s paradise. 

Leaving Mdina through Greek’s Gate, we proceed to the cliffs at Dingli. The tour ends with a visit to the San Anton botanical gardens situated near the Presidential Palace, which you will be able to admire from outside.

  

Three Cities Tour - (Half Day) - Wednesday (Morning)

Driving past Cospicua we reach Vittoriosa for a walking tour through the narrow streets in the shade of historic buildings, including the first auberges of the various langues of the Order. At the Vittoriosa waterfront we take a typical harbour boat (dghajsa) for a tour of the colourful harbour creeks.
From the Senglea Garden, situated at the tip of the peninsula, enjoy a stunning 360° view of the Grand Harbour, including the impressive Fort Sant Angelo from where Grand Master La Valette led the defence of the island during the Great Siege of 1565.

Discover the Grand harbour area opposite Velletta know as the Three Cities - Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Sengleas where the Knights of St. John first settled in 1530.

Half Day South Tour - Sunday (Morning)

The idyllic fishing village of Marsaxlokk with its colourful luzzus and unique character make the unrivalled setting for the local market. This is the perfect place to spend a Sunday morning, where you can rub your shoulders with the locals as you browse through the various stalls. 

We continue our tour with a visit to the Blue Grotto (weather permitting - boat price not included) and the nearby caves. Admire the whole expanseof the blue Mediterranean and the islet of Filfla.

Later our guide will help you explore one of Malta’s unspoilt villages. From the main square, the hub of the village with its parish church and band club,you will be led through a maze of winding narrow streets that all have a story to be told.


Malta Under The Stars - Friday Evening

Drive around the fortifications of Valletta, which are beautifully lit at night, and stop at the Valletta Waterfront in Grand Harbour. Built during the time of Grand Master Pinto, this area comes alive at night, attracting Maltese and tourists alike to its many bars and restaurants.  Some free time will be given.

Discover Rabat in the centre of the island and walk along its narrow winding streets before reaching Mdina, Malta’s Silent old Capital City – at night a mysterious city which looks so different from what it looks like during the day.  A city of palaces and churches, once only inhabited by noblemen, its history goes back to the times of the Phoenicians, the Romans, the Normans and the Knights of St. John.  From the ramparts of Mdina you will be able to see practically half the island sparkling in front of you.






BENIDORM, Spain

Valencia – A full day in Spain’s third largest city to take in the major sights including the magnificent cathedral, the central market, Bioparc Valencia and the atmospheric old quarter; time also for shopping.

Costa Blanca Tour – a fascinating and very popular excursion which takes in the impressive Algar waterfalls and winetasting.

Guadalest – a spectacular mountain scenery tour.

RHODES

Rhodes City Tour: 

The tour starts in Mandraki area where you can admire the buildings of the Italian occupancy and followed with a drive to Mount Smith, once the Acropolis of Ancient Rhodes.

Here the view encompasses the Temple of Apollo, the ancient stadium of Diagoras and the port. Entering the fortified city through the Amboise Gate, you shall continue your tour on foot, following your guide through the narrow, cobblestone streets.

The most imposing building of the medieval Rhodes, the Palace of the Grand Masters dominates the end of the street of the knights.

Built in the 14th century, it astonishes you with its unique architecture and an unrivalled patina of time.

Walking down the street of the Knights and passing through numerous, colorful shops, one can admire the 15th century Hospital of the Knights, which now houses the Archeological Museum.

 

Lindos and the Acropolis:

This is a wonderful opportunity to spend the day in the most attractive village of Rhodes: the fascinating Lindos.

After a drive along the east coast, passing though picturesque villages and cosmopolitan resorts, you reach Lindos and its famous Acropolis.

The astonishing beauty of the castle, the Acropolis of Athena Lindia on the top of the hill enjoying spectacular views, with St. Paul's Bay (where the Apostle arrived in 58 AD) and the paved streets of the village captivate visitors. A walk through its narrow paved streets reveals the beauty of the traditional island architecture.

The Acropolis is an approximately triangular rock, 116 meters high, can be reached either on foot or on charming little donkeys (extra charge). The walls, built by the Knights, today dominate the crown of the Acropolis where the view from up here is breathtaking.

 

Rhodes Island Tour:

Experience this historic and beautiful island on our scenic tour.

Throughout the year the West Coast remains a very green and fertile region quite different from the East Coast.

During the tour you will visit famous villages such as Siana with its Byzantine church. Siana is also known for its honey and suma.

The next stop is for photographs at the Castle of Monolithos.

Followed by the visit of the hidden village of Embona. This place is famous for its local production of wine and for the cuisine.

The route continues to Profitis Elias where, during the Italian occupation, two hotels were built here named Elafos and Elafina (Deer & Doe) and the rich and elite used to frequent them. A quaint place to sit down and relax and enjoy a coffee or other refreshments in the local "cafeneon". Nearby is the St.Nicholas church where you can view the original paintings.

Continuing on we reach the picturesque village of Eleoussa, which was the site of the Rhodes Sanatorium, chosen for its healthy climate.

Return to the Hotel passing by small typical Greek villages.

 

Filerimos, Valey of the Butterflies, Ancient Kamiro:

After a short drive to the west coast, we will ascent to the top of Filerimos hill, where you will visit the monastery of Our Lady and the remains of the ancient acropolis of Ialysos, one of the three ancient cities of Rhodes Island. Visitors can walk along a "Golgotha", a tree sheltered pathway with a series of shrines with scenes of the Holly Passion.

Continuing we reach the Valley of the Butterflies which is one of the island's best known beauty spots. This valley has become world famous not only because of its natural beauty and unspoilt natural setting, but mainly because it is a gathering point for a specific species of butterflies which fill up the valley during the hot summer months, coating the trees and rocks in a multitude of colour, creating a unique experience that is both very rare and beautiful.

Further, along the north-western shore, lies the third of the island ancient city: Kamiros. Kamiros was one of the three large Doric cities of the island, which, united with Ialyssos & Lindos in the 5th Century BC to create the powerful city state of Rhodes. This ancient city of Rhodes contains the remains of an advanced civilization that is dated nearly 3,000 years old.


Symi Island and the Monastery of Panormitis:

At around 09:00 in the morning, the boat sets sail from Mandraki harbor to the beautiful island of Symi.

After a relaxing cruise near the Greek and Turkish coastline we reach our first stop which will be the tiny cove of Panormitis. Here you can visit the very famous monastery of St Michael before sailing to the main harbor of Symi.

Upon arrival, you will have time at leisure to explore the quaint shops in search for natural sea sponges and cooking spices or have lunch in one of the local taverns overlooking the harbor before returning back to Rhodes.

The return to Mandraki will be in the afternoon.

Symi is one of the most picturesque and unspoilt islands of the Dodecanese Islands and should be highly recommended to any traveler visiting Rhodes.

 

Turkey: 

Experience two different countries in one day tour from Rhodes and discover with us a foreign culture and a different continent.

Pick up from your hotel and arrival at Rhodes harbor. After only one hour cruise with a catamaran you reach the coast of Asia Minor - Turkey. 

Marmaris is one of the most attractive tourist locations on the west Turkish coast. Built on the beautiful Bay of Mermaids, the city combines both old and new architecture with charm, all surrounded by green mountains and a colorful environment.

You may enjoy a typical Turkish breakfast before ending at the bazaar with its narrow streets full of boutiques, art shops, jewelry, leather and carpet shops. Here you can feel the exotic atmosphere, the oriental sounds and the smell of the spices.

You can experience the Turkish cuisine and enjoy the typical sweet delights. And don't forget to bargain in order to have a better price!



TUNISIA

Tunis, Carthage, Carthage & Sidi Bou Said – Visit the amazing Roman site at Carthage including the archaeological museum and Roman Baths. Then on to picturesque Sidi Bou Said. Afternoon visit to the Bardo Museum.

El Djem – Visit the wonderful 3rd century Roman Amphitheatre and the archaeological museum.

Evening Zulu & Wildlife Park – Arrive late afternoon with free time around the wildlife park followed by dinner including wine/soft drinks and a great Zulu show.

Sahara Desert (2 days) – Visit the wonderful Roman Amphitheatre at El Djem and then on to Matmata (lunch included). Early morning start to see the salt lake, Tozer Aasis and a 4 wheel drive to visit Chebika mountain range. On to Kairouan to see the Grand Mosque.




ISCHIA, ITALY

Hidden Ischia – A great day out discovering the magic of Ischia’s nature and volcanic soil, rich in hot springs and mineral waters. The tour combines transport by private bus, walking and a short boat ride visiting Sorgeto bay and its thermal bath,   Cava Scura (a complex of grottoes and hot springs  that date back to Roman times), Nitrodi Springs  and the wonderful  Maronti Beach. Free time also for swimming and sunbathing.

Capri – just an hour from Ischia by ferry, is one of the most enchanting islands in the world, loved by poets and painters who for centuries have fallen under its spell.  Sightseeing tour  and free time to explore or shopping.  Not to miss a ride on the chair-lift to Mount Solaro!

Amalfi & Positano  - spend a day on a leisurely cruise to experience the renowned  beauty of the Amalfi Coast and enjoy free time to visit St  Andrews Cathedral  or for browsing  and shopping.

Knossos - a bewildering complex of more than 1500 interlocking rooms, a true labyrinth, was more than a cage of the gruesome Minotaur..It was an astonishing palace, built for a mighty king of the Bronze Age.
